The Biography of Bill Gates Known for making Microsoft, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world behind Jeff Bezos. Gates was born on October, 28 1955 in Washington. In education, he attended Lakeside School and Harvard College. Bill Gates dropped out of college two years after he attended Harvard, because he wanted to make a software program with his friend, Paul Allen. The program they made, will later become known as Microsoft. Bill Gates married Melinda French on 1st January 1994 in Hawaii. Gates's mother died shortly a few months after his wedding. Melinda French gave birth to three children: Jennifer, Rory, and Phoebe. Gates lived with his family at a 54-million dollar house on the shore of Lake Washington. Bill Gates now has a total net worth of about 104.3 billion American dollars. He is now a philanthropist and a founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a private charity organization.
